We are excited to announce that we now offer comprehensive certification preparation on key topics from the prerequisite course. These preparatory modules are designed to bolster your understanding and readiness, equipping you with the essential knowledge and skills needed to confidently sit for the examination.

However, please note that these are not standalone prerequisites and do not qualify you to take the certification exam independently. They serve as a supplemental resource to reinforce your learning and ensure your preparedness for the certification.

Certification

Magnet certifications serve as a testament to an examiner's advanced proficiency with Magnet Forensics products, recognized by peers, internal stakeholders, and external entities such as legal teams and clients.

Certifications Available:

  • Magnet Certified Forensic Examiner (MCFE) - Prerequisite: Must have attended AX200 or BCERT (at NCFI)
  • Magnet Certified Graykey Examiner (MCGE) - Prerequisite: Must have attended GK200
  • Magnet Certified Verakey Examiner (MCVK) - Prerequisite: Must have attended VK200
  • Magnet Certified Griffeye Examiner (MCGF) - Prerequisite: Must have attended GE200
  • Magnet Certified macOS Examiner (MCME) - Prerequisite: Must have attended AX350
  • Magnet Certified Cloud Examiner (MCCE) - Prerequisite: Must have attended AX320
  • Magnet Certified Authenticity Examiner (MCAE) - Prerequisite: Must have attended DV150
  • Magnet Certified Video Examiner (MCVE Witness) - Prerequisite: Must have attended the DV200 - Witness

Qualification

Our qualification program is designed to demonstrate your competency in using Magnet Forensics products. Obtaining this qualification ensures that you are well-versed in the features and functionalities of our offerings, allowing you to utilize them effectively and efficiently.

  • Magnet Qualified Graykey Investigator (MQGI) - Prerequisite: Must have a Magnet Graykey

Frequently asked questions

How do I apply? Click on the registration link below and complete the application. Once we have confirmed the prerequisite has been met, you will receive notice of registration and log in details. If you do not receive your access to the examination within 72 hours, please check your junk folder or email training@magnetforensics.com.

What is the exam format? You will need to login through your Arlo account. You will have a 120-minute time limit to complete 75 total questions (the MCVE examination will have a 120-minute time limit to complete 50 total questions). The MCFE Examination is comprised of two parts. A set of knowledge-based questions around the functions and use of Magnet Axiom and a practical-based set of questions using a prepared evidence set. The MCME, MCCE, and MCVE Examinations are comprised of a practical-based set of questions using a prepared evidence set.

What do I need to pass? A passing score is 80% or higher.

What if I fail the test? If you fail the test, you are invited to retake it as soon as you feel ready. If you fail a second time, you must wait 60 days before re-applying to take the test one more time.

How much does it cost to take the exam? The exams, and all subsequent recertification is free.

How long are these certifications valid? Each certification is valid for two years. Upon expiration, you will receive a notice for renewal.

Are the Certification Preparations included in the Training Annual Pass? The Certification Preparations is not included in the Training Annual Pass and must be purchased separately.
